Using the reconstitution calculator to measure

The Measure tab turns a vial's strength into an exact draw on your syringe. This guide measures a dose two ways, by the total amount in the vial and by its strength, then reads off the units to draw.

Open the Measure tab

Open the Measure tab. The ruler is empty until you enter your vial.

You can enter it two ways. Total amount is the powder and liquid in the vial. Strength is the mg per mL. Both describe the same vial. Pick whichever one you know.

Enter it by total amount

Say your vial is 10 mg of powder mixed in 2.5 mL. Keep Total amount selected. Enter 10 mg and 2.5 mL.

The calculator works out 4 mg/mL. That is the strength of your vial.

Or enter it by strength

This is the same vial, entered the other way. Choose Strength. Enter 4 mg/mL and 2.5 mL.

You get the same vial, 10 mg in 2.5 mL. Use whichever one you already know.

Enter your dose

Enter your dose. At 1 mg, the ruler reads 25 units. That is what you draw on a 1 mL syringe.

This vial gives 10 full doses at that draw.
